Presentation at UK-Russia Arctic Marine Science Workshop
Today I had the privilege of visiting Northumbria University in Newcastle to participate in a UK-Russia Arctic Marine Science Workshop. The workshop focused on collaboration with Lomonosov Moscow State University (LMSU), especially their White Sea Biological Station (WSBS).
I was particularly pleased to be able to showcase my Model Arctic Council (MAC) programmes, such as NORMAC University, and to propose a future Arctic-based MAC in collaboration with LMSU and WSBS. The WSBS is a large station with excellent facilities, and staff there are experienced at hosting summer schools for visiting students. It would be an exciting location to host an international MAC for undergraduates, and I hope these initial discussions about potential collaboration will bear fruit.
